Build-A-Bear Workshop is more than just a teddy bear retail store at the mall. In its entertainment wing, Build-A-Bear Entertainment released its animated holidays film Glisten and the Merry Mission just in time for the holidays.

The voice cast includes Julia Michaels, Trinity Bliss, Freddie Prinze Jr., Billy Ray Cyrus, Michael Rappaport, Dionne Warwick, Leona Lewis, and Chevy Chase.

Here is the full synopsis:

Glisten and the Merry Mission follows a young elfling, Marzipan, and her mother Cinnameg, the newly minted manager of Santa’s troubled North Pole workshop. Marzipan must believe in the magic of the season to help save Christmas, which leads to the adventure of a lifetime and the search to rediscover the enchanted snow deer, Glisten. The pursuit of their merry mission is aided by Santa and a colorful cadre of reindeer and elves, including a big bear on the “naughty list” named Grizz, and the wise elf Sage Evergreen.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke to Build-A-Bear Workshop CEO Sharon Price John, who is also a writer and executive producer of the animated film. We talked about the origination of the story, her love for the holidays, the entertainment wing of the company, and the tie-ins to the company.

Sharon Price John graduated from the University of Tennessee. to work in the advertising industry and eventually earned her MBA from Columbia University. She managed several iconic kids’ brands at the companies of Mattel and Hasbro. It led her to the role of president of the Stride Rite Children’s Group and eventually taking the helm at Build-A-Bear Workshop that marks her as one of the top female CEOs and businesswomen in the nation.

Glisten and the Merry Mission is exclusively playing in Cinemark Theaters exclusively on Friday, November 3^rd.
