KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

20th Century Studios released the first trailer for their highly anticipated action-adventure spectacle, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. This new addition to the franchise is set to hit theaters across the nation on May 24, 2024, promising an enthralling cinematic experience for fans of the series.

Directed by Wes Ball, known for his work on the “Maze Runner” trilogy, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes ventures into the distant future, several generations after Caesar’s reign. In this futuristic world, apes have become the dominant species, coexisting harmoniously, while humans have been relegated to a shadowy existence.

The plot unfolds as a new tyrannical leader among the apes begins to build his empire, throwing the peace and balance into disarray. The film boasts a talented cast, featuring Owen Teague of “IT,” Freya Allan from “The Witcher,” Kevin Durand, known for “Locke & Key,” Peter Macon, recognized for his role in “Shameless,” and the legendary William H. Macy, famous for his work in “Fargo.”

The screenplay for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is penned by Josh Friedman, the creative mind behind “War of the Worlds,” and the acclaimed duo Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who were behind “Avatar: The Way of Water,” as well as Patrick Aison, the writer of “Prey.” The story is based on the characters created by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
