Godzilla And The Titans Apple Series Adds Kurt & Wyatt Russell

Godzilla

The live-action Apple series, Godzilla and the Titans just added two more names to the cast! According to Variety, Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell are the latest additions to join the series. The father and son actor duo join Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski. All who had previously been announced. The series is part of the ever-growing Monsterverse franchise that already has four films under its belt.

Godzilla and the Titans will follow up the huge battle that Godzilla had that destroyed San Francisco. The devastation has left everyone shocked by the reality that monsters are real. The series will explore one family’s quest to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy that links them to the secret organization known as Monarch.

Chris Black and Matt Fraction co-created the Monsterverse Apple series. As well as serving as executive producers. Black will also serve as the series showrunner. Joey Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures will also executive produce. Along with Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita of Toho Co. Ltd. They are also reporting that WandaVision director Matt Shakman is attached to direct the first two episodes and executive produce.

Toho is the owner of the Godzilla character. It has been licensed to Legendary for the series. Legendary’s Monsterverse was established in 2014’s Godzilla. Which was then followed up by Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Then a re-introduction to King Kong in Kong: Skull Island. Then the latest where we saw both of these Titans go head to head in Godzilla vs. Kong last year.

It will be interesting to see what kind of lore this Apple series will add to the growing Monsterverse. As well as what other classic characters we may get the chance to see. Overall it’s a cool project that I am enjoying watching develop.

Currently, there is no release date for Godzilla and the Titans. You can check out the existing films mentioned above on HBO Max.
