Godzilla vs. Kong To Add Alexander Skarsgard

Godzilla: King of the Monsters hasn’t even hit theaters yet, but you can bet your ass that Legendary is already working hard on its successor, Godzilla vs. Kong, which, as the title hints at, will see the kaiju clash with everyone’s favorite ape. But with the film still nearly a couple years ago, specific details are sparse.

Today, we are getting just a tad bit more information, courtesy of Variety. According to the outlet, actor Alexander Skarsgard is in talks with the studio to join the project. I know what you’re thinking. “Alexander Skarsgard! He’s the perfect choice to play the son of Godzilla!” Sadly, no. Skarsgard will be playing no monster, but rather the leader of a military unit.

Godzilla vs. Kong will be the fourth film in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, which started out with 2014’s Godzilla (directed by Gareth Edwards), continued with 2017’s Kong: Skull Island (directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts), and will continue once again next year with Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters (directed by Michael Daugherty). Set to direct the monster mashup is Death Note and You’re Next helmer Adam Wingard.

Alexander Skarsgard was recently seen in the Netflix film Hold the Dark. What do you think of him joining the flick?
