Marvel Comics fans are in for a treat this August as industry legend Greg Capullo returns with his iconic interior artwork for an all-new limited series, Wolverine: Revenge. Capullo teams up with visionary writer Jonathan Hickman in a five-issue series that promises pure, unadulterated Wolverine action, just in time for the iconic character’s 50th anniversary.
Announced by Polygon earlier today, Wolverine: Revenge will not only bring intense Wolverine action to fans but will also feature special RED BAND EDITIONS. Much like the current Blood Hunt event series, these editions will be polybagged to protect sensitive eyes and will include exclusive pages with heightened violence.
In this series, Capullo and Hickman throw Wolverine into the fray against a cadre of formidable foes, including Sabretooth, Omega Red, Deadpool, and others. With Wolverine beaten and bloodied, his only thought is revenge.

“I’ve finally returned home to Marvel, and I’m ready to raise some Hell. And who better to do that with than the Hitman Hickman?” Capullo told Polygon, who also shared an exclusive preview. “To celebrate, Marvel has removed the fences and let us off our leash so that we can bring the most vicious and punishing Wolverine story possible to the fans this summer. I hope they’re prepared.”
Hickman expressed his excitement about the collaboration, saying, “Well, obviously it’s such a privilege to get to work with a legend like Greg. When we first talked about the project, our number one concern was taking the readers on a high-octane, no-holds-barred Wolverine story that was a proper celebration of both the character and Greg returning to Marvel. And like he said, the bosses cut us loose and the result is an absolutely wild book. Honestly can’t wait for everyone to get to check it out.”
Fans can check out Capullo’s cover and its RED BAND version, and make sure not to miss this prestige miniseries. Set to hit stands in August, Wolverine: Revenge is poised to become one of the defining—and most brutal—tales in Wolverine’s storied history. For more information, visit Marvel.com.
