Finally, some Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special details from the man himself, James Gunn. After being announced at the Disney Investor Day initially, we’ve heard little else about the Holiday Special. That’s probably because James Gunn was a little busy finishing off and then promoting The Suicide Squad for WB. However in a recent interview with Collider, Gunn gave some of the first details about that Holiday Special.
First of all Gunn confirmed this is a canon short and will definitely matter to Guardians 3.
“It’s in-canon, it’s about the Guardians, you’re gonna learn stuff that you need to learn before Volume 3, and it’s great I’m really happy with it.”
Gunn the confirmed that the Holiday Special will shoot along with the Guardians 3 movie which begins this November.
“I’m gonna film it at the same time as the movie. I’m using a lot of the same sets, the same actors obviously, so we’re filming simultaneously with the film but it’s gonna have to be edited and finished sooner.”
