Gwynth Paltrow would return to the MCU, with certain caveats. After the climactic events of Avengers: Endgame and namely the death of Tony Stark, Gwyneth Paltrow hinted she was done with Marvel Studios. Paltrow to be fair doesn’t really do much acting work any longer, instead she is the CEO of her own company Goop. Paltrow’s Pepper Potts/Stark hasn’t had a major role in a Marvel movie since Iron Man 3. However, Pepper did appear in several key scenes from Avengers: Endgame.
So Paltrow recently told People she would return to the MCU. However, only if the role was small enough that she could film for 1-2 days only.
“I think if it was a small part that I could do in like a day or two, I would of course be open to that.”
Thing is, I’m not sure we really need to see Pepper Stark back anytime soon. Perhaps the character could make an appearance in either Armor Wars, or Ironheart. However, I also don’t think those shows need to have Pepper in them. It would depend what those writing teams want to do with the shows. It also kinda feels like Paltrow would be showing up to something she doesn’t care about just to put some overpriced appearance fee in the bank. I’ mean, we live a capitalist society, so I’m not saying she shouldn’t do that. I guess I’m just not passionate about her character, because neither is she?

Where I definitely could see a need for Pepper to come back is if Marvel ever do anything with Morgan Stark following in her fathers footsteps in the future. Saying that, we must be, what, another 15 years away from Morgan Stark? That’s assuming there are no more 5 year time jumps in the future. By that time who knows what Gwyneth “I’d rather die than let my kid eat a Cup-a-Soup” Paltrow will be up to?
Personally, I’m not bothered either way. Paltrow is not one of my favorites in the business. If I never see Paltrow again in the MCU I really won’t care. However, I’d also be up for it, if it suits the story Marvel are trying to tell.
