If the words “Luke Skywalker” and “weakness” are used together, many of us would automatically think of The Dark Side, Darth Vader, and The Emperor, but alas, it was the blue milk. At the age of 26, Mark Hamill took on the now-iconic role, and working with such a cast, many would think that there could be numerous obstacles to overcome, but a couple days after debunking the theory he called out “Carrie” in Star Wars: A New Hope, Hamill has taken to Twitter in order to reveal some insight regarding the lovely beverage he had to drink while filming Star Wars: A New Hope:
Blue milk was “Long Life” milk (used by campers because no refrigeration is needed) w/ blue food coloring. Oily, warm & slightly sweet, it literally made me gag, but I was determined to drink it on-camera. It was an acting challenge to appear as though I enjoyed it. 🤢 #TrueStory https://t.co/L9XNJXxsU7

Now THAT is acting. I remember watching the film as a kid and wondering what in the world that stuff was. Even when I was older, I still thought the blue milk looked awful and wasn’t sure how he stomached it. Apparently…he barely did.

Would you have drank the blue milk if it meant getting the chance to be Luke Skywalker? I would have, but it would have probably ended up all over the set. Leave your thoughts in the usual spot, and thanks for reading!
