Ever since 2016’s Suicide Squad hit, Warner Bros. and DC have been obsessed with Harley Quinn. Maybe that’s because casual fans became infatuated with her and Joker’s relationship and made her a household name. No matter the reason, DC/WB green-lit a slew of movies that would have starred Margot Robbie as Harley. However, most of those films fizzled out and it looks like two were combined into the upcoming Birds of Prey film. One other project that survived is the animated show Harley Quinn.
This show, coming to DC Universe (soon to be with HBO Max), is definitely not for little kids. Filled with violence and profane language, the show is aimed at young adults who enjoy things like Rick and Morty and Metalocalypse. Kaley Cuoco (Big Bang Theory) is voicing Harley with Lake Bell and Alan Tudyk joining in the fun. Diedrich Bader will be voicing Batman, a job he had for the animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
I may not be the biggest DC fan in the world, but this looks right up my alley. I enjoy bad language and violence. Don’t judge me!
The series is being written by Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey and will debut in October of this year.
