Harry Lennix Chats up ‘The Blacklist’ and ‘Batman v Superman’

Transient

Harry Lennix has been a busy man. His nearly twenty year career has landed him straight in the center of the pop culture zeitgeist, being part of both a blockbuster film franchise and a buzz-worthy TV series. The actor appeared in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, and is part of the cast of NBC’s The Blacklist. You may recall that Lennix was called upon, at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, to read the passage from Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” that would serve as the big reveal for WB/DC’s plans.

The actor is currently making the rounds promoting season 2 of The Blacklist, and was asked a couple of questions about both of the big projects he’s a part of these days.

Regarding Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the actor was unsurprisingly tight-lipped:

“Anybody who’s a fan of the ’86 graphic novel ‘The Dark Knight Returns,’ I think will be well pleased by that. This is a historic event. Clearly, Zack Snyder is on the cutting edge of directing movies of this scope and scale. I think you can depend on the acting — you’ve got Amy Adams, of course. You’ve got Henry [Cavill]. I don’t think there are any surprises with regard to that. What will happen remains to be seen. I’d probably wind up in a box some place.”

While that answer doesn’t exactly tell us much of anything, it does- once again- bring the Miller book back into the chatter surrounding the film. Since the project’s inception, people have stated that “The Dark Knight Returns” was being heavily mined for information that would influence the plot of Batman v Superman

On The Blacklist, and it’s highly-anticipated return, Lennix says we can expect a super-sized helping of everything we loved about the first season:

“The short form answer would be it’s Season 1 on steroids. We’re gonna amplify it. We do a show that has garnered the attention of the public, which this fortunately has. We want the fans to have more of what they want. This is kind of a super-sized version of Season 1. So, we pick up where we left off, which as you remember, everybody was pretty much in the jaws of danger. I think you’ll see more of the same. Red is the same. We will have some extraordinary exciting guest stars on to play Blacklisters. So, we’re excited about it. The most important thing is you can depend on the same level of intrigue, action. and acting.”

Just for fun, let’s re-live the epic reveal for Batman v Superman:
