Some Potter related Barside Buzz as the latest Harry Potter TV series rumors include potential episode count, Voldemort and premiere details. No marking of spoilers here for a book series already adapted into film once. You all know the story, or you have no interest in Harry Potter.
The information comes from Redanian Intelligence, an outlet dedicated to fantasy properties. It’s been a while since they had any scoops. However, I’ve found this site to be very accurate for The Witcher, House of the Dragon/Game of Thrones, Wheel of Time and more. Plus, the studios wrecked or cancelled most of the fantasy properties the site specialises in, so there’s been little to leak.
The outlet says the current plan is for Season 1 and Season 2 of Harry Potter to both be 6 episodes long. They claim the studio does plan to expand this to 8 episodes per season from Season 3 onwards when the books increase in length and complexity.

As for filming they say the plan is to film Season 1 from now till May 2026. Season 2 will begin filming from July, 2026 to May, 2027. Like the movies, there are child labour laws to get around when making live-action projects that star kids.
The outlet also claims that the premiere episode will end with the kids arriving at Hogwarts on the boats with Hagrid. That means that premiere will cover everything from the night of the Potter’s deaths, through the Dursley’s and Diagon Alley. It makes sense to get to Hogwarts as quickly as possible.
The site also claims that the actor playing Voldemort has been cast, unlike the first movie. They say the baddie appears in several episodes, so we may get more of him in flashback form in addition to him living on the back of Professor Quirrell’s head. More Voldemort is always good for me. Though, the outlet does say the cast actor is being kept as a secret for when the series actually launches. Maybe someone big then?
