What a compliment to Kevin Feige, that the media and fans use his name as a reference to someone that helms a successful television and film universe. The kind of person that DC and Warner Bros. Discovery are still looking for. But it seems like the search may be coming to an end as The Hollywood Reporter says that Dan Lin, executive turned producer, is in talks to take on the role of DC chief.
The role of DC boss would see Dan Lin oversee not just the films by the television side of DC as well. He would report directly to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zasliv, according to sources. This proposed structure would see Lin bypassing the heads of Warner Bros. Pictures, HBO/HBO Max, and Warner Bros. TV. Essentially putting DC in the hands of one person.
Walter Hamada, the current head of DC Films, would transition out of the role. Sources say that currently there are no negotiations and no official offer has been made to Lin. Although separate sources told THR that salaries are being discussed as well as reporting structure and the future of Lin’s prolific production company, Rideback.
Lin is a respected producer that is known for his smarts and willingness to work with others, especially those that are experts in their fields. He has worked on four Lego films and the highly successful two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s It. He also has television experience.

If Lin turns out to be the guy for DC, it would come at a good time. Recently Zaslav announced that they were restting the DCEU. That a 10-year plan would be implemented that would allow them to compete with the likes of Marvel Studios.
Hopefully, they find someone soon. With films getting pushed back further and further, it’s essential for Warner Media to have some sense of stability. Starting with someone in charge that everyone can look to for accountability.
