We are only a month from Ant-Man and the Wasp hitting theaters and up until now, we were pretty confident that the villain of the movie would be Ghost. After all, that’s how it looks from the trailers and other snippets we have seen so far.

However, an Instagram post from Evangeline Lilly who plays the titular Wasp, may hint there’s more at play here. Here is the post from Lilly:

Now, this may just be wording causing confusion, but many fans have wondered whether the actress has just revealed that Lawrence Fishburne’s Goliath, may end up being a villain in the movie. Something not hinted at all in the trailer and promotional materials. It certainly wouldn’t surprise me if Marvel was ready to reveal Goliath as being the real villain of the piece and may provide a giant sized finale for the upcoming MCU flick.
It’s also possible Lilly was referring to the mythic battle between David and Goliath and it just so happens there is a character called Goliath in the new movie. It will certainly be interesting to see if Goliath really does turn bad, or prove to be the villain, behind the villain as it were. I guess we will know when Ant-Man and the Wasp releases on July 6.
