Last week we learned that the Marvel Netflix series Iron Fist would not continue for a third season. This is despite the second season being a set up from the first season, his appearance on The Defenders as well as the second season of Luke Cage. So where does Finn Jones’ Danny Rand go from here? Is this the end of the Iron Fist on Netflix?

According to Entertainment Weekly although his solo show has been cancelled, his character will continue to appear in the Marvel Universe. Here is the official cancellation announcement from Marvel & Netflix, note that is says that “Iron Fist will live on”.
“Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners… We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.”

Could it be that Danny Rand could show up in another series like The Defenders? Or better yet, could we see him in the third season of Luke Cage in a Heroes for Hire program? Especially with how we last saw Luke in Harlem’s Paradise, Danny may have to come in and reason with him to help him not become a villain. Shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones do not seem as well suited for him. We will have to wait and see what plans they have for him.

How would you like to see Danny Rand’s character used in the future? Let us know in the comment section below!

The first and second season of Iron Fist can be seen exclusively on Netflix.
