He Who Remains Will Return In Loki Season 2 | Barside Buzz

According to the latest Barside Buzz, He Who Remains will return in Loki Season 2.

According to the latest Barside Buzz, He Who Remains will return in Loki Season 2. That’s actually a tad surprising given how the narrative of Season 1 played out and ended with his death. Yet, we are playing with malleable time in this series. Therefore, the past and the future are not mutually exclusive.

The information comes from the usually very reliable Alex P at TCC. Here is what the insider says about the upcoming Loki Season 2 and the return of He Who Remains.

‘Earlier this month, I took to Twitter (now X) and teased a potential Kang variant that was coming up soon. We can now exclusively report that the first Kang variant to appear in the MCU, He Who Remains, will return for Loki‘s second season. Multiple sources have told us that Jonathan Majors will don the robes once more and return as the most “benevolent” of the Kang variants.’

‘As for a few additional details, sources also told us that these scenes featuring He Who Remains are not repurposed from the first season finale, but rather new scenes taking place at the Citadel at the End of Time and the Void. Majors’ appearance as He Who Remains will feel like a “full circle” moment for the story told in Loki, as well as for fans of the show, according to our sources.’

I have to say I like the way this narrative seems like it could play out. Or, perhaps I should say I like the possibilities I can think of in my head for how the narrative may play out. It is still possible that what we see in the show won’t work. I dunno, I haven’t seen it yet either. Anyway, i wonder if they may play with one of two possibilities.

One, any changes made by Loki and Sylvie, they always end up with HWR back in the citadel. Two, that HWR was right. By working against the alternatives Loki unknowingly is the catalyst for HWR to win initially. The nature of this show means it is intrinsically linked to time travel and the Multiverse. Ergo, that’s just where my brain goes as a possible twist at the end of the season. Would love to see Sylvie just kill him again anyway (despite more warnings) and things get kinda reset for Season 3. “We’ll just try again, and keep trying until we get rid of him”, kinda deal.

However that all remains to be seen for now.
