Heather isn’t what you think it is. Here’s the setup: a woman draws a philanderer into a steamy encounter, and he soon realizes she’s had a gender reassignment—and was once the boy he bullied in high school. Wild, right? But don’t get comfortable. That setup is just the start, like a magician’s trick that only hints at Heather’s mind bending twists. And believe me, the wow moments pack a punch.
I recently sat down with Anthony Repinski, the powerhouse behind Heather. Repinski wrote and directed the film, bringing his experience as a former SEAL Team 6 chief and former CIA contractor. The guy wears more hats on set than anyone I’ve seen. From directing to stepping in with tech help, he handles every aspect with precision.

This film refuses to stick to one genre. It jumps from one to the next, hitting every note perfectly. Repinski calls it Romeo and Juliet on crack, and I couldn’t say it better myself. Make no mistake: Heather is pure horror. Think Hostel with flashes of Fargo’s infamous woodchipper scene.
Michael Bregman produces Heather, and the film stars Blade Runner’s Sean Young, trans actor Pooya Mohseni, and Nick Matthews. It’s unrated and unapologetically graphic, so get ready. Buffalo 8 drops it on digital platforms November 8.
