Yesterday we learned that Derek Mears will play Swamp Thing and Andy Bean will Alec Holland in DC Universe’s supernatural horror series Swamp Thing. It seems like production on the series is close because we are getting news about new cast members almost everyday. Today Deadline is reporting the addition of yet another character.

Actor Henderson Wade is joining the cast of the series as Matt Cable, who will be a series regular. He is a Louisiana lawman who finds himself in dire straits when supernatural evil threatens the town that he is supposed to be protecting. His character was first appeared in DC Comics’ Swamp Thing #1 in 1972 by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. Back then he was introduced as a federal agent that is assigned to protect Alec Holland. He fails his assignment and blames Swamp Thing for Holland’s death.

Wade also played a sheriff in The CW’s Riverdale for six episodes. Also in six episodes of Extant he also played Adhu the son of Molly Woods. Besides that he also appeared in The Last Ship, American Horror Story: Roanoke, NCIS and Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. He is repped by the Strain Group and Stride Management. Wade joins Mears, Bean, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott and Crystal Reed who have already joined the series.
