Hicham Hajji Talks PTSD And Big Oil In His Film Redemption Day [Exclusive Interview]

Redemption Day is a new action film from Saban Films. It’s an action film with a familiar plot of a loved one getting captured by terrorists and needing to be rescued. But writer and director Hicham Hajji makes sure that there is a lot more during his film to explore than just a rescue story.

Redemption Day stars Gary Dourdan as Brad Paxton, who is dealing with PTSD after returning from his time serving as a U.S. Marine Captain. His wife, Kate, played by Serinda Swan, does a fantastic job at being there for him, without seeming overbearing. Of course in the storyline, we also have the kidnapping of Kate by a terrorist group. One that gets rather complicated when the rescue is held up due to the politics of big oil. These themes in Redemption Day I thought were woven well.
