The little details do matter in a long series for Hijack on Apple TV+.

With dozens of cast and extras for seven episodes, costume designer Colleen Morris-Glennon must ensure the consistency of the clothing styles worn on the fateful flight and the cultural styles of the characters in many countries.

There is also a certain approach to choosing the right outfit for the lead actor Idris Elba as the corporate negotiator trying to save everyone on the flight.

Here is the official synopsis:

When Flight KA29 is hijacked during its seven-hour journey from Dubai to London, Sam Nelson—an accomplished corporate negotiator—tries using his professional skills to save everyone on board. Will this high-risk strategy be his undoing?

The series also stars Neil Maskell, Mas Beesley, and Ben Miles.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta had an insightful conversation with costume designer Colleen Morris-Glennon on this latest project. She addressed the clothing styles of the flight crew, the passengers in first class, and the passengers in economy class. Also, she revealed her cultural research on the clothing of people in the Middle East.

Colleen Morris-Glennon has worked in the entertainment and fashion industry for the past twenty-five years. Her first feature film with costume design was Bolden!, which showcased her vast historical knowledge and creativity of costumes. She worked on the BAFTA-nominated series You Don’t Know Me for BBC/Netflix based on the best-selling novel by Imran Mahmood. Besides her work in the entertainment industry, she designs for private clients, and her work was featured during London Fashion Week.
