Hotel Mumbai Trailer: New Thriller Chronicles 2008 Terrorist Attack

Bleecker Street and Shivhans Pictures have just released the brand-new trailer for their upcoming thriller Hotel Mumbai. The film is based on the true story from 2008, where a wave of terror attacks shook Mumbai. Among the various locations targeted was the Taj Mahal Palace hotel. This film chronicles the events that took place within that hotel.

Hotel Mumbai is directed by Australian filmmaker Anthony Maras and stars Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Anupam Kher, and Jason Isaacs. Of course, in today’s film climate we get a TON of thrillers, but this one does seem like it has some real emotional weight to it, and I don’t just mean because it’s based on a true story.

Below is the official synopsis for Hotel Mumbai:

“A gripping true story of humanity and heroism, HOTEL MUMBAI vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Refusing to leave their guests, the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter (Academy Award-Nominee Dev Patel, Slumdog Millionaire) choose to risk their lives to keep everyone safe. As the world watches on, a desperate couple (Armie Hammer, Call Me By Your Name and Nazanin Boniadi, “Homeland”) is forced to make unthinkable sacrifices to protect their newborn child.”
