As we know, Kevin Spacey is OUT. Accusations of sexual assault made sure of that. Luckily for House of Cards, his character was seemingly already on the way out, what with his character on his way to prison. This final season now puts his wife, Claire Underwood, in the driver’s seat as president of the United States.
As revealed in the new teaser for the final season, things kick off roughly 100 days after Claire takes office, and while she may have Frank out of her way, the job still ain’t going smoothly. Some of Frank’s previous allies are coming to collect on his promises, and she’s making it perfectly clear that she has no intention of going through with anything he’s said.

Perhaps most notably is her line, “The reign of the middle-aged white man is over.” Though while she may be heralding a new age, it’s very clear that she’s falling into the very same pitfalls tyrants fall into, with the body count rising, and enemies emerging on all sides.
Something tells me her White House of Cards may crumble all-too-easily.
