How To Be A Latin Lover: Eugenio Derbez Talks About Working with Salma Hayek, Gaining Weight and Being in Spanglish Films

One ofthe greatest Mexican actors is certainly making his mark here in the United States.

Eugenio Derbez has moved to the United States a few years ago to establish himself in the English language films. With the surprise success of 2013’s Instructions Not Included, he has gone on to be in films like The Book of Life, Miracles from Heaven and Netflix’s Sandy Wexler. He’ll be in a remake of Overboard and possibly as the voice for the animated film Speedy Gonzales.

Now Derbez headlines in How to Be a Latin Lover with Salma Hayek.

Derbez plays Maximo, a man who made a career of seducing rich older women, finds himself dumped after 25 years of marriage. He ends up moving in with his estranged sister, where he learns the value of family.

Rest of the cast includes Rob Lowe, Kristen Bell, Raphael Alejandro, Michael Cera, Rob Corddry, Mckenna Grace, Rob Riggle and Raquel Welch.

LRM had a sit-down interview with Derbez earlier this month to discuss many things including his weight gain, Salma Hayek, and speaking in both English and Spanish for a film.

How to Be a Latin Lover is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
