How Will Actor Jared Padalecki’s Arrest Impact Supernatural?

The CW’s Supernatural has a strong following dating back to 2005.  Fans of the show were definitely surprised by the recent arrest of Sam Winchester himself, Jared Padalecki.  Deadline reported that Padalecki was arrested over the weekend for two counts of assault (misdemeanors) after a confrontation at an Austin bar, which has left many wondering how/if this will affect the final season of Supernatural.

“He was taken into custody after he allegedly struck the bar’s assistant manager and general manager in the face, after they had escorted him outside the establishment. “

“Padelecki is not currently in custody, according to online records with the Travis County Jail, and production on the 15th and final season of his CW series Supernatural is not currently affected by his arrest.”

It appears that Padalecki was home for a planned break when the incident occurred, and will return to Vancouver, where Supernatural is shot, later this week.

Being in its final season, it doesn’t look like the arrest will have a large impact on ratings,  but this could all change.  Even if it does not affect the current show, Padalecki has another  upcoming show by The CW that I am curious to see if the incident has an impact on:

“As Supernatural is winding down, Padalecki is next set to star and executive produce Walker, a reimagining of CBS’ long-running 1990s action/crime series Walker, Texas Ranger. The series remains in development at the CW.”

What do you think?  Will the arrest take a toll on the ratings for Supernatural moving into the end of its run?  Do you think it has any weight on the upcoming shows Padalecki may take part in?  Leave your comments in the usual spot, and thanks for reading!
