There’s a new rumor in town, saying Hugh Jackman is to return as Wolverine in the MCU. This might seem a little hard to buy, especially with Jackman saying he was done with the role. However, this rumor is a little different from Jackman coming back as Wolverine in a starring role within the MCU. According to insider Daniel Richtman’s Patreon service, Jackman is being lined up to appear in Doctor Strange 2. I think the idea is that Jackman could appear in a small cameo role. Perhaps even showing the existence of the former Fox movies as a different Multiverse from the one we see in the MCU?

As far as I can tell there is no suggestion that Jackman would become the MCU version of Logan going forward. However, all we know is that Richtman says Jackman has been approached about appearing as Logan in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Richtman’s Patreon can be got at Here, though requires a subscription. However Richtman also posted this on social media.

I must admit, this is a bit of a shock initially. However when you consider we have hard rumors that Marvel wants to cast well known actors as alternative versions of famous MCU characters, it kinda makes sense. That’s not to say I think this is a good idea. When this story broke yesterday and we were looking for clues, my colleague Kyle Malone (LRMornings) went on a rant about it. To begin with I thought it was an overreaction, but then I slept on it. Kyle’s perspective was that he did not wish to see any connection between the Fox Marvel properties and the MCU. I’m now starting to agree with that. Sure, it might never impact the MCU greatly as a whole, but I just don’t like the idea of the X-Men and Fantastic Four films being in any way canon.

Hey, that’s just me though. I wish we had a time machine and we could transport a younger Hugh Jackman forward to play Logan in the MCU. That’s never going to happen long term. If Hugh Jackman is to return as Wolverine in the MCU, I think it will be only a cameo. Question is, whether it’s a good idea or not? Leave your thoughts below as always.
