I Know What You Did Last Summer Is Back Via Teaser Trailer From Amazon Prime Video

I Know What You Did Last Summer

It’s been twenty-four years since the slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer captivated audiences around the globe. Now it’s back in an all-new series on Amazon Prime Video. It will be based on the same 1973 novel by Lois Duncan that was also the inspiration of the cult classic film from 1997. Today Amazon Prime Video has released the first teaser trailer to the series that you can check out below!

As we can see we are shown teenagers doing teenage things. Including attempting not to take responsibility for their actions. But like in the original film, someone out there is going to hold them accountable. I wonder if this series is going to be able to captivate a new group of teenagers to the slasher genre. As well as the nostalgic group that were/are big fans of the original film.

Here is the synopsis for the Amazon Studios Original Series I Know What You Did Last Summer

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a modern take on the hit 1997 horror film. That honors the same chilling premise – in a town full of secrets. A group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night. The project is based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan. I Know What You Did Last Summer is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television. Sara Goodman will write and executive produce along with executive producers Shay Hatten, Original Film’s Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty and Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear. Craig Macneill will serve as director and executive producer for the first episode.

The original I Know What You Did Last Summer was directed by Jim Gillespie and starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prince Jr. to name a few. While it wasn’t a critical success it was commercially successful grossing $125 million worldwide on a $17 million budget.
