Indiana Jones 5 Production Delayed Due To Ford’s Injury [UPDATED]

Todd Howard says there are advantages to not developing Starfield for PS5. The producer also teases the Indiana Jones video game

This was always the fear, but according to a new report from The Sun, Indiana Jones 5 production delayed even longer than we had hoped. Star Harrison Ford we already knew injured his shoulder rehearsing for a fight scene. Initially the production was going to reschedule and they hoped Ford would be back before long.

UPDATE: Indiana Jones 5 still shooting according to director James Mangold and producer Frank Marshall.

Original Story

However there were unconfirmed reports that Ford’s injury was worse than first feared. Now, The Sun are a tabloid from the U.K. I would never source if I could help it. However this tabloid has been on the money so far with all their reporting of the production of Indiana Jones 5. Most of the set photos and videos we have seen have come from them ultimately. So whilst I dislike linking them as a source, I have done so in the link of the first paragraph above.

Though, I’ll hopefully save a you a click by telling you what they say here.

An insider said: “It is Harrison’s last outing as Indiana and everyone thought it would be plain sailing.

“After the initial delays everyone was raring to go. But now Harrison is injured and it is worse than first thought.”

“The film’s bosses have come together to work out the scheduling and it’s chaos. The earliest they think they can restart the production is September.

“It was not what anyone was expecting so to have to change everything is a huge blow. Everyone was concerned for Harrison and they are glad he is on the mend.”

That would be a three month delay before they can get Ford back in front of a camera. If this is true then the production would have to shut down. There is no way you can film for three months on an Indiana Jones film without Indiana Jones.

Whilst I hope this report is not legit, I have to say I think it is this time, sadly. Injuries at 79 (in 2 weeks time) don’t heal quite as quick as they used to. It’s not the years, it’s the mileage you see.
