AMC has proven over the past several years that they’re all-in on all things walking and all things dead. Not only is The Walking Dead set to outlive its original cast members, but fans have also been experiencing the spin-off series Fear the Walking Dead for four seasons. As it stands, there is no end in sight for this horribly depressing franchise, and now word has it they’ll even be adding to the family.
Variety is reporting that AMC is hinting at developing yet another spin-off of The Walking Dead. That’s right. We may be getting yet another series that follows a group of people during a zombie apocalypse. Here’s what AMC Networks chief operating officer Ed Carroll said in a conference call with investors:
“[We have] hired creative people that have pitched story outlines. We feel very good about the development of that series…there’s a healthy appetite for it and we’ve had a number of conversations with a lot of players in the space.”

There is no word yet on what this series will entail, and as such, we have no idea how this show will differentiate itself from the other two. But, now more than ever, it looks like AMC is continuing to rely on the Walking Dead brand, for better or worse, even with declining ratings and cast members leaving left and right.
“We are well aware that when a show has been around for nine years, you would expect viewership to be declining,” Carroll said on the call, “but I think we’ve managed that and managed that well.”
