Is An Infinity War Tie-In Novel Hinting At A New Threat For Avengers 4?

There have been a ton of rumors around Avengers 4 since Infinity War hit cinema screens last summer, we’ve literally heard it all before. One of the things I dismissed pretty quickly was the idea that another big bad could show up as the main threat in the upcoming (and as yet untitled) Avengers 4. There was no real evidence for this other than a rumored title for the movie of Avengers: Annihilation, which prompted many fans to speculate on whether Annihilus could appear in Avengers 4 as another threat to our heroes.

Well, there may be a small bit of further evidence to throw onto the fire here. It seems like the release of a new tie-in novel set just after the events of Infinity War is hinting at some bigger threat. Check out the post on Twitter for this tie-in Novel below called Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest, Vol. 2: Aftermath from author Brandon T. Snider. Phew that’s a mouthful.

Interestingly if you blow up and look at the covers in more detail, you will see the synopsis on the back which states,

“little do they know that a new foe who threatens to destroy them all is looming….”

Now, this could simply be some sort of antagonist for the heroes of the novel who appear to be Dr. Erik Selvig and Darcey Lewis from Thor. Or, it could be hinting at some sort of threat that won’t be fully realized until Avengers 4. Now, this is flimsy, it is, Occam’s Razor applies here in that the simplest explanation is by and large the correct one. However, I am just reporting to you what we know, you can decide for yourself to be as skeptical as me or get all hyped that “Annihilus is coming – confirmed!!“, I just won’t be backing up that stance until I see something more concrete.

So decide for yourself what to take from this and let us know what you think in the usual place below.
