One of the little details that fans spotted in Avengers: Infinity War was a large oversized cannon in the workshop where Rhodey first meets Cap and his rogue Avengers.

No one really thought too much about it. After all, it could have been merely set decoration, or anything really. However, it was then spotted again in the photo released by the Russo brothers where they asked fans to “Look closer.”

Here is that photo again for a look, with the added supposed title everyone was speculating on of Avengers: Annihilation. You can see the item we are talking about on the left-hand side of the photo, in the small alcove.

It has now come to fans attention that this device looks an awful lot like Iron Man’s Proton Cannon from the Marvel Vs Capcom series of video games, have a look for yourself at this Instagram post shared by The Geek Power below. This shows the device as it was in Infinity War. You can also see the way this looked in the video game in the header image above.

Now whilst it is possible that this could be Tony’s new weapon for seriously hurting Thanos in Avengers 4, it could also be pretty much nothing of importance. It does make sense that Tony would be developing a way to do more damage to Thanos in Avengers 4, considering that everything he threw at him in Infinity War barely scratched the Titan.

Does that mean this weapon will be used in Avengers 4, that’s a bit too far of a jump to make, but it is worth seeing if this shows up anywhere else in the promotional period for Avengers 4 when it begins.

What do you think, did you even notice this in Infinity War? Share any thoughts you have in the usual place below.
