Is Lethal Weapon 5 Still A Possibility? Director Richard Donner Thinks So!

We keep hearing Lethal Weapon 5 is a possibility, only to have it confirmed that it will never happen again and again. How quick will this article be null and void? Let us see what happens this time around…

During an appearance on Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast, as director Richard Donner’s credits were being read in the introduction to the show, he added:

“And 5 coming up!”

Of course he is referring to Lethal Weapon 5, but last time we heard from Donner the project was dead. Is this just still wishful thinking on Donner’s part? Or does he know something we don’t?

It seems like the time could still be “right” for Lethal Weapon 5. With a new Rambo and a new Terminator film on the way, who says there isn’t an appetite for one last adventure with Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover)? Hell, even the show Lethal Weapon is a successful enough that the network thinks they can replace Riggs and still get the numbers they need for the show to live on.
