Once upon a time Fox’s Gotham was supposed to introduce us to a young Bruce Wayne and his journey to becoming the Dark Knight, along with his infamous rouges gallery. Since season one we have seen countless Batman characters appear on the show and now with season 5 on the horizon fans of Gotham have accepted it and enjoyed it as an “elseworld” story. In which case, with only one shortened ten episode season remaining why not add future Batman villains?
It seems like that will be the case as thanks to set photos shared on social media, in this case from an Instagram account dcolympus, it looks like the Mutant Gang is headed to Gotham. If you look at the image below you can see a large shirtless character who looks very similar to the Mutant Leader from Frank Miller’s fan favorite graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns. He is a physically intimidating character that nearly kills an elderly Batman in a one on one fight.

He seems to have all of the comic accurate characteristics from the leather pants, boots, signature visor and even the spiked head. Behind him are also what looks like two other members of the Mutant Gang, both also sporting leather clothing, the visor and spiked hair.
Gotham seems poised to go out with a bang. There will be so many villains looking to take control of the city that is now cut off from the rest of the world, thanks to the attack by Ra’s al Ghul and Jeremiah at the end of Season 4. With the last season drawing inspiration from some Batman story lines like No Man’s Land and Zero Year, this sets up a great opportunity to insert a group like the Mutant Gang.
