Is The Rock-Vin Diesel Feud Over?

Remember way back when news of the Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel feud first hit the headlines? On the set of Fate of the Furious, it seemed like there was a fissure forming between the two Furious titans…but I was convinced it was all one big publicity stunt to promote the new flick.

Clearly, that was not the case, and the creation of the Hobbs & Shaw spinoff seemed to indicate that this break would be a permanent one. But would it actually be? Well, there seems to be some indication that the feud could be reaching an end.

In a recent Instagram post, Johnson said:

“I want to thank brother Vin for your support of Hobbs & Shaw,” he said.

“What a wild ride this has been. 10 years ago, when you and I spoke and you invited me into the Fast & Furious family. I’m grateful for that invite. As you know, my goals was always, all these years, to come into the Fast & Furious world and help elevate the franchise in any way that I possibly could. If I could do that, then I’ve done my job, and now here we are 10 years later, this massively successful buildout and expansion. We did it the right way, we did it the smart way, and again, brother, I appreciate your support.”

The kicker of it all is when Johnson says, “And of course, all roads lead to one thing. I’ll be seeing you soon, Toretto.”

Can this be a hint of what’s to come in Fast 10? Will these two franchises once again remerge? While Hobbs & Shaw was a relatively solid success with $755 million, I think it is clear that the franchise is stronger when all parties are present. Love it or hate it, Dom’s crew really does bring butts into seats.
