Tragedies certainly can change one’s life instantly.

After a woman’s husband departed suddenly in Isabel’s Garden, she suddenly becomes a mother to a stepdaughter and realizes a newfound relationship.

The family drama stars Fear the Walking Dead star Karen David in the lead role as a busy small town reporter who suddenly gained custody of a 15-year-old stepdaughter after the death of her husband. She tries to balance work and mourning, while establishing a relationship with someone linked to her loving departed husband.

The film also stars Gabriela Flores (Walker, The Tax Collector), Valery M. Ortiz (Gabby Duran & The Unsittables, Hit the Floor), Jayne Taini (Station 19, Ray Donovan), and Manuel Rafael Lozano (9-1-1, Teen Wolf: The Movie).

Kit Rich directed and wrote the film. She makes her directorial debut with this film.

Isabel’s Garden is an award-winning film in the film festival circuit. It gained praise from the Poppy Jasper Film Festival, Independent Filmmakers Showcase IFS Film Festival, California Women’s Film Festival, and Imagine This Woman’s International Film Festival.

The film will be released on VOD and digitally on January 3rd, 2025.
