Celebration time, fellow Losers.
Omega Underground reports that It: Chapter 2 is expected to begin principal photography on June 18.
Production will be returning to the Toronto/Port Hope area and will make use of Pinewood Toronto Studios. Port Hope was used as Derry in the first chapter of IT, and shooting during the summer break allows production to shut down roads and buildings.
Filming would then possibly wrap sometime around October or November, setting it up for a 2019 release date.
So far, the only confirmed actor is Bill Skarsgard back as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, though it has been rumored the kid versions of the Loser’s Club may return, though a bulk of the film will be set 27 years after the first.
Jessica Chastain has shown interest in playing the older Bev, though no adult versions of the Loser’s Club have been cast as of yet.

Andy Muschietti will again direct the sequel, also from a script by Gary Dauberman.
It will be interesting to see how this section of the book is handled, as in Stephen King’s novel, the adult and child stories were intertwined, with far more going on in the children’s adventures and a lot of PTSD for the adults as they remember their first encounter with IT.
IT: Chapter 2 screams into theaters on September 16, 2019.
