Ja Rule Thinks We Still Know Nothing About Fyre Festival

This past week saw the release of not one, but TWO documentaries on the ill-fated Fyre Festival. The festival was carried out by bro-tech entrepreneur Billy McFarland, and over the course of two feature-length documentaries, he is pretty much raked over the coals. However, he’s not the only one who gets some rough treatment.

One person who also had a lot of stake in this — at least from a branding perspective — is rapper Ja Rule, who was the face of the Fyre Festival and an earlier Billy McFarland enterprise. Neither documentaries are particularly flattering towards Ja Rule, who seemed to play an integral role in the festival that ultimately ripped off thousands of high-paying attendees. At best, he comes across a grossly incompetent, and at worst, manipulative of his own fan base.

But Ja Rule isn’t taking any of this sitting down. The rapper took to Twitter to share some of his frustration over some of the accusations being thrown his way on the heels of the release of this thing:

“I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???”

“Come on your smarter than that… I feel bad for those ppl… but I did not and would never scam ANYONE… period!!! And I don’t care if anyone sympathizes with me or not those are the FACTS!!! 💯”

“I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!!”

You can weed through the other comments on his feed yourself, but a lot of him is him defending himself and throwing McFarland under the bus. When asked about how something could be his vision, and yet for him to be so out of the loop, he responded:

“So it’s impossible for me to TRUST someone with my vision and them completely f**k it up??? And it wasn’t my money so when I asked questions I was lied to..”

So what’s the truth? Hell if we know. While both documentaries cover the same subject, how they do it is vastly different. This alone proves the complex nature of this story, and if nothing else, Ja Rule is right about one thing: after watching two documentaries, “you still don’t know shit…”
