Jack Ryan has made his way to our screens one way or another over the course of decades in various iterations. To date, there have been five actors to take on the iconic Tom Clancy role, including Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, Chris Pine, and now, John Krasinski. Just a few years back, Pine took a crack at the role in a feature film, but after that one flopped, Amazon opted to take a different, more TV-centric approach.
Now, Jack Ryan is entering its second season, with Krasinski returning to play the analyst-turned operative. Season 1 of the show had Jack start out as something of a Captain America-like person, but the events of that season really did take its toll, as John Krasinski told EW.

“This is a guy who very openly stated, ‘Here’s all the work. Go get the bad guys. I don’t want to be a part of it,’ but now his eyes have been opened and he can’t go back.”
Krasinski also spoke about Noomi Rapace joining the cast of the series, but it’s unclear what her ultimate role will be in terms of the story and her connection with Jack Ryan.
“I want to team up with her so bad, and probably have feelings for her, but also am constantly aware this is espionage. This isn’t a date at the mall. This can go south at any time.”
In the show, one thing I’ve enjoyed is the very logical approach Jack Ryan and co. take with their actions. In the case of Rapace’s character, I hope she doesn’t encourage Jack to make an annoyingly unwise decision that will lead him down a rabbit hole of awfulness.
But we’ll see.
Jack Ryan Season 2 will hit Amazon Prime Video…soon…
