Jack Whitehall and Darby Camp have a big love for dogs. Well, in their love is tremendous to be in Clifford the Big Red Dog.

In one of the most surprising family films this year, Clifford the Big Red Dog won the hearts of children from the adaptation of the book series by Norman Bridwell.

The film also stars Izaac Wang, John Cleese, Sienna Guillory, Tony Hale, David Alan Grier, Horatio Sanz, Paul Rodriguez, and Russell Peters.

Here is the official synopsis:

The movie tells the story of when middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy. She never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta talked with actors Jack Whitehall and Darby Camp on the comedy, stunts, puppets, and their own personal love of dogs.

Jack Whitehall had numerous roles as a child actor in television dramas but pursued stand-up comedy after schooling. He was a finalist in So You Think You’re Funny talent hunt at Edinburgh Fringe and earned a nomination at Chortle Awards. He delighted audiences as a teacher in the television series Bad Education for a few seasons that also resulted in 2015’s The Bad Education Movie. Other series he had roles in included Thunderbirds Are Go, Decline and Fall, Bounty Hunters, and Good Omens. Most recently, he starred in Disney’s blockbuster hit Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. His other film credits included The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and Mother’s Day.

Darby Camp is a child actor, who immediately made an impact on the small screen with the HBO series Big Little Lies. Also, she starred on Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles and The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two with Kurt Russell. Her other credits included NOS4A2, Benji, Grey’s Anatomy, The Leftovers, and Drop Dead Diva.

Clifford the Big Red Dog is available today with bonus content from Paramount Home Entertainment. It will be followed by a Blu-ray and DVD release on February 1st next year.
