Samuel L. Jackson back filming as Nick Fury the actor confirms on social media. This is probably for The Marvels which we know has already begun filming. Jackson will also star in Secret Invasion which begins soon, but has not begun yet that we know. It was never confirmed that Jackson would be in The Marvels, however, I think most fans expected it. Fury was a major component of Captain Marvel, so it would be weird for the character not to have any interactions with Danvers, especially after Endgame. The post-climax of Endgame was the funeral of Tony Stark, so whilst the characters probably chatted, the audience didn’t get to see these two catch up.

My thinking is there will be many connections between The Marvels and Secret Invasion. Though which one comes first, that remains to be seen. The Marvels hits theatres on November 11th next year, however we don’t have any idea when Secret Invasion will air. Maybe around the same time if the show and movie are as connected as I imagine. Again this is all just speculation from me, so why not double down on some more?

My guess is that Jackson will go from filming The Marvels straight into filming on Secret Invasion. However, whether Carol Danvers shows up in Secret Invasion is another matter entirely. Danvers may be a little too OP to have around during the pot of Secret Invasion, but who can say for sure?
In my mind there are three main plot threads running through the current MCU phase. The Multiverse plot, which will incorporate, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, and likely Quantumania. Then we have the Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts thing going on, which seems to continue in Hawkeye, Echo, Captain America 4, and perhaps a Dark Avengers movie or show. Finally we have the Skrull plot, which I’m guessing will take in Ms. Marvel, The Marvels and Secret Invasion. Where the rumored (and half set up) Young Avengers comes in with these three strands I do not know.
Could the whole thing be leading to an Avengers 5 movie with Kang as the main villain, or will that only resolve the Multiverse side of the coin? So much speculation and so little answers, for now.
