Filmmaker James Gray brings a little bit of his upbringing in his latest film Armageddon Time.
From acclaimed filmmaker James Gray, (Ad Astra) Armageddon Time is a deeply personal story on the strength of family, the complexity of friendship and the generational pursuit of the American Dream. The film features an all-star cast including Anthony Hopkins, (The Silence of the Lambs), Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables) and Jeremy Strong (Succession).
The filmmaker James Gray began a strong career since his directorial debut at the age of 25 with Little Odessa starring Tim Roth. A film that granted him several awards, including Best First Feature and Best First Screenplay during the Independent Spirit Awards. Other successful films include We Own The Night, The Immigrant, The Lost City of Z and Ad Astra starring Brad Pitt.
Banks Repeta has been grown up around professionals in the entertainment industry. He is the son of actress Nina Repeta (Black Phone) and cameraman Mike Repeta (The Patriot). The young actor made his debut in the short film, Happy Birthday, Barbara. And has appeared in Manhunt, Netflix The Devil All The Time, The Black Phone and next week on the second season of Hulu’s Welcome To Flatch.
Jaylin Webb found joy in acting after he enrolled in theater and won the lead role as Barry Gordy for The Sound of Motown. The following year with his parents’ support he left Miami to pursue acting in Orlando to attend acting classes. Within three months Webb was signed by a talent agency. He has now participated in ABC’s The Wonder Years and HBO’s David Makes Man.
With the release of Armageddon Time I was connected with James Gray, Banks Repeta and Jaylin Webb via Zoom. They shared what scene touched them the most for the film. Gray spoke about moral clarity on a particular scene that moved him and more!
Focus Features will release ARMAGEDDON TIME in theaters Friday, November 4, 2022.
