According to new Barside Buzz, James Gunn is currently casting a young actress for a role in his Man of Tomorrow sequel. You’ll see one or two outlets speculating that this is for Wonder Woman who will make her debut in the film. However, it is pure speculation and not the fault of the source here. That source is Daniel RPK on his Patreon. Daniel does not normally cover DC adjacent news. So I’m including this as per his reputation for Marvel and Star Wars, which are both good.

All Daniel says is he’s heard Gunn has begun the casting process and looking for a young actress in her 20’s. This is for a major role in Man of Tomorrow and Daniel has no more information on that role. Nor any names of who is being potentially scouted.

Now I’m sure Wonder Woman is a possibility, but no more or less than any other big female roles that have yet to be cast for the DCU. I know, Wonder Woman is more important than almost any other female characters. However, that does not mean Diana will definitely be introduced before the DCU Wonder Woman film comes along. Of course, it also doesn’t mean she won’t. Perhaps some names in contention and the role itself will come into focus farther down the line?
