“It’s hard but we’re looking. And we actually have some really great choices, which I’m excited about. It has to be somebody who has all the humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien. It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and compassion that Superman has. And it has to be somebody that you’d want to give you a hug.”
“You know, all the Supermen have been good, so we just have to add to that story.”
Gunn then joked with the reported that it was not Chris Pratt, unless he was a few years younger.

It seems as though Gunn has whittled down to only a few contenders for the coveted role and it may be a while yet before we get a solid name. Of course everyone in the media is now looking at every actor between a certain age range and imagining them as Superman. It’s best in this scenario to wait until a trade reports who next dons the cape, after that I’m sure unless Gunn corrects them, we know it’s legit.
For now there’s no one out there who jumps up at me. However I certainly had never come across the majority of actors who have been cast as Superman prior to the announcement. I’m guessing the same will be true here. All previous Superman have in my opinion been well cast for the projects they were recruited for. Let’s hope then, that trend continues.
What do you think as James Gunn describes what he wants in the new Superman actor for Superman: Legacy? Thoughts below as always.
