James Gunn Pulling Back From Debunking DCU Rumors As Superman: Legacy Storyboarding Underway

James Gunn says he’s pulling back from debunking DCU rumors online. The DC boss says Superman: Legacy storyboarding is now underway and he simply doesn’t have time for all the lies. As I’m sure you are aware, Gunn has always behaved a little differently to most creatives or executives working in the industry when it comes to leaks. Most studios will simply ignore any and all insiders claims unless it’s something like a leaked script. Gunn on the other hand, and it’s one fo the things I like about him, would occasionally debunk claims.

Gunn has made a ton of insiders look stupid by debunking their claims. However, when Gunn does not respond, people take that as conformation the rumor is true. That’s not always going to be the case, but there will also be times when Gunn would have to confirm something he doesn’t want to or stay quiet.

As you can see from Gunn’s post below, the DC boss is also now Storyboarding for Superman: Legacy, the opening movie of the DCU which he write and will direct himself. Ergo, he simply doesn’t have time for all the posts he gets tagged in all day, every day. Oh and he also answered one query from a fan, who was shocked to hear Gunn was storyboarding a first draft script. He told the fan this is very far beyond a first draft.

There are three reasons for this: 1) Some people are making up lies to get attention from me or to get clicks & I don’t want to encourage that. 2) I’ve read a hundred rumors this morning. ONE of them is half-true. So I don’t want to be used as a way for people to throw nonsense at the wall until something sticks. 3) I’m storyboarding Superman Legacy and don’t have time! Have a great day! 

So we may still get Gunn calling out some really out there rumors that just annoy him. However, he is not going to be answering every tag on Twitter asking if a rumor is true or not, and fans debating the question whether he answers or not.

As always with us Humans, it people that take things to far which stop the rest of us having nice things. I’ll miss Gunn destroying false sources, but the man’s gotta get some work done folks.
