James Gunn Reveal New The Suicide Squad Poster Day Before Trailer Release

The Suicide Squad green band trailer

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad barely has any resemblance to its predecessor.

With many new characters and a few leftover survivors from David Ayer’s film, DC comic fans anticipate wild fun entertainment with plenty of humor.

Returning for the sequel includes Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang). They’ll be joined by new heroes and villains, including Idris Elba (Bloodsport), John Cena (Peacemaker), Michael Rooker (Savant), Alice Braga (SolSoria), Nathan Fillion (T.D.K.), Pete Davidson (Blackguard), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Sean Gunn (Weasel), Peter Capaldi (Thinker), and Flula Borg (Javelin).

One thing for certain, this is one of the most diverse and colorful cast for a superhero movie in a while.

Details about The Suicide Squad is about the super-villains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X where they are heavily-armed and dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.

James Gunn described the film, “It’s going to be different from any superhero movie ever made.”

On his Twitter, he revealed a new poster for The Suicide Squad that has that look of vintage movie posters of the ’60s and ’70s. The three lead characters of Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, and Peacemaker make up most of the poster and with the lead credits. It seems like the rest of the cast is just for support according to the credits.

He wrote, “I’ll drop this here. Did I mention that a trailer is coming tomorrow? #TheSuicideSquad.”

The Suicide Squad release date is for August 6 for theaters and on HBO Max.
