Director James Gunn has taken to social media to reveal that filming begins on his Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow. Plus we have a glimpse at a possible new logo for the movie. Check out the post below from DC Studios co-head James Gunn.

If you look at the very top of this image, you can see a logo on the clapperboard. It looks like a combination of Superman and Brainiac’s symbols. Some outlets have worked up their own interpretations of the logo for a better look. I won’t embarrass myself by subjecting you to whatever I could conjure up. So here’s someone else’s.

Man of Tomorrow will hit theatres on July 9, 2027.

The confirmed cast includes, David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, Rachel Brosnahan, Lars Eidinger, Skyler Gisondo, Isabela Merced, Aaron Pierre, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Frank Grillo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Adria Arjona and Andre Royo. It is also expected that Milly Alcock will features as Supergirl, but that casting has not been confirmed that I am aware of.
Most of he cast are reprising roles from Superman, or other DCU projects. Lars Eidinger is playing the antagonist Brainiac. Andre Royo’s roles is unknown as is Adria Arjona, though she may be playing Maxima.
The comic image in the header above was shared by James Gunn when announcing the film. It has been said that Superman and Lex Luthor will be the main focus of the film, probably teaming up against Eidinger’s Brainiac.
