Jason Mitchell can now call himself a horse whisperer.
The young thespian challenged himself in The Mustang as a prisoner who trains horses for auction.
The Mustang follows a violent convict, who is given a chance to participate in a rehabilitation therapy program involving the training of wild mustangs.
The film also stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Bruce Dern, Gideon Adlon, Connie Britton and Josh Stewart. It is directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre and written by Clermont-Tonnerre with Brock Norman Brock and Mona Fastvold.
Mitchell is notable with his wide-range of acting skills in Straight Outta Compton, Mudbound, Detroit and Kong. He currently in the Showtime television series The Chi.
The Mustang is playing in limited theaters tomorrow. The film will expand in more theaters the following week.
