Kevin Smith and co. have been hard at work producing his latest film, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, a movie which sees our two leads once again attempting to stop a movie being made based on their likenesses. Of course, this was done with the original Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but in the era of reboots, no piece of intellectual property is safe, and that includes Bluntman and Chronic.
Ever since the start of production, Smith has been releasing a production diary called “Road to Reboot” which is chronicling its making. In this latest production diary, Smith discusses their first night shoot, which takes place in a nondescript location with mounds of dirt surrounding them (like some staging area for a quarry). It’s sadly unclear what the context of the scenes in question are, as they spend most of the time dealing with on-set shenanigans, including a five-dollar Friday celebration.

If you were hoping for some revelations about the story itself or actual on-scene nuggets, you’ll be disappointed, but I guess they can’t all be winners, right? Though in the video, Smith does mention they have just a couple weeks left to finish production and that it’s wrapping up very fast.
