Jeff Rosenberg and Laura Jacqmin Talk Anti-Rom-Com of We Broke Up [Exclusive Interview]

We Broke Up from Jeff Rosenberg and Laura Jacqmin

There are plenty of rom-com films about couples falling in love together in a myriad of silly ways. However, there aren’t enough anti-rom-com movies about breaking up.

Jeff Rosenberg and Laura Jacqmin took the opportunity to create a comedy around the most un-romantic part of a relationship in We Broke Up.

The movie stars Aya Cash and William Jackson Harper in the breakup roles of Lori and Doug.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Lori and Doug have been together for 10 years. But when Lori reacts badly to Doug’s surprise proposal just before her little sister’s wedding, he dumps her. Not wanting to steal the spotlight, Doug and Lori pretend they’re still together. However, raw emotions and tempting flirtations with other wedding guests make pretending a lot harder than they’ve anticipated.
