Jeff Torres has made the best out of quarantine. Embracing his creativity not only as an actor but as a director. 

Torres will be making an appearance tomorrow, August 8th in Theater: Company of Angels What’s Going on? Virtual Short Film Festival Online. This virtual festival will be showing eight plays. Two of which Torress will be a part of. 

Starting with No Kaps, written by Lui Sanches, in which he will be acting. This play is about two friends preparing to attend a football game.  He will be behind the scenes of Stay With Me as director in the company with writer Ron McCants. It’s an interesting story about a black executive, producer, writer who has a podcast and ends up sharing his story about what it’s like for him dealing with the current events in America. 

Torres has made several appearances on television from the Fox series Pitch to CBS’s Criminal Minds: Without Borders. Currently, he can be seen in The House of Demons that is available on Amazon Prime. A supernatural thriller about a group of friends reunion spending a night in a haunted house. 

His most recent work as the lead actor and director of his very own short film, Once. A film we can all relate to as it was shot during the COVID-19 lockdown. It’s about a young fellow exploring himself, contemplating his life choices and choosing to take control of his life. This film is pending to be released.

I had a chance to have a Zoom call with Torres to discuss his experience in adapting to this pandemic as an artist. He shared a little bit about his personal experience in how he is coping during this pandemic and using it as a time to create. The challenges in preparing for the What’s Going On? Visual Short Film Festival.
