Artists want to change the world with their art.
In The Golden Age or L’Age d’Or, the French film follows an aspiring American actor and a stage actress, who retreats to the French Riviera to develop a project together. Soon they develop a relationship together, which faces certain challenges from their personal ambitions.
The film stars Jenna Suru and Sebastien Cipolla (So, You Want to Be a Gangster). Suru directed and wrote the project.
Here’s the synopsis of the film:
May 1967. A penniless Franco-American producer meets an ambitious French theater actress in Paris. Both desperate to change the world, they decide to embark on an artistic project together, ending up in a small village in the South of France: Saint Tropez.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with Jenna Suru from her home in Paris, France. We talked about the development of the project, creating a period project, and acting with Sebastien Cipolla.
Suru produced multiple projects before directing The Golden Age, which marked her directorial debut. Also, this movie was also her full-length feature debut as an actress. She produced numerous shorts, including The Bigger Picture, Tara, the Sparkling Homes, and Spitball.
