Jennifer Cheon Garcia On Her Role As Ivory In Syfy’s Van Helsing [Exclusive Interview]

Van Helsing

The classic character of Abraham Van Helsing has been around since the gothic horror novel Dracula. He is notably known as the archenemy of Count Dracula and a vampire hunter. It is interesting how these characters that include the classic monsters always seem to have a special place in pop culture. Whether it’s vampires, werewolves, and anything in between, we can be sure that they will live on in television, films, books, and graphic novels.

One series that took a different take on the character is Syfy’s, Van Helsing. This series is based on the graphic novel Helsing. It debuted back in September of 2016 and is currently in its fifth and final season on Syfy.

Here is a synopsis for Van Helsing:

Van Helsing is set in the near future, where vampires have risen and taken control. Vanessa Van Helsing is humanity’s last hope, as her unique blood composition gives her the ability to turn vampires human. With this secret weapon, Vanessa becomes a prime target for the vampires. Van Helsing comes from the producers of Fargo and Hell on Wheels. Jonathan Lloyd Walker serves as showrunner.
